 Reputable
manufacturers of swimming pool paints will guarantee the quality of
their products in manufacture. However, they do not offer guarantees
on their performance of their products because of variables over which
they have no control: age and/or condition of concrete; presence of
porosity in some masonry surfaces; application of paints over bared
stones; the filling of pools too soon after painting and before fresh
paints have thoroughly dried, etc. Though "paints" failure
are very infrequent, the greatest potential for painting problems
occurs in re-painting over old paints which may appear sound to the
eye but which may be degrading with age from the rigorous service
to which they have been subjected; i.e., constant submersion of the
coatings daily or continuous chlorination and frequent super chlorination
(which has a powerful oxidizing action on all paint films); the cumulative
and various of other swimming pool water treatment chemicals PAINTS
BOND TO THE NEAREST SURFACE. If that surface is unsound, or becomes
unsound at any later date (in this case through ongoing degradation
of the old coatings beneath the fresh paints), flaking, peeling, or
blistering will most often result, either immediately or at some future
date. When re-painting, the good performance of the fresh paints is
directly related to the ongoing good performance of any and all coats
of the old paints over which it is applied. |

have authorized us to paint your swimming pool. We are prepared to
do so, using the recommended procedures of the paints manufacturer.
This company manufactures only swimming pool coatings and has a fine
reputation in the swimming pool industry, for the quality and
excellence of their products. We have used their paints for many
years with the highest degree of customer satisfaction and an
absolute minimum of "paints" problems.
However, since we, too, cannot control all the conditions described, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE PAINT JOBS, UNLESS THE SURFACE HAS BEEN SANDBLASTED. Nevertheless, we are very knowledgeable and experienced in painting pools and we will make every effort to achieve the very best results when painting your pool. Prior to our painting job, we will give you a copy of the above statements. We would appreciate your signing, dating, and returning one copy to us; no work will be done until we have received the signed letter copy from you.
